Please see this letter from Mr. Starr regarding a minor bus incident from February 18:
Safety and the wellbeing of our students is of utmost importance and constant concern. With this in mind, please note the following:
While returning from a basketball game last night, our Bus #1, driven by Mr. Leo Menestrina, was involved in an accident. There were no injuries. The matter involved a vehicle that was leaving town on South M-88 veering into the pathway of the bus. Alertly, Mr. Menestrina steered the bus away to avoid an even more serious collision and ended up in the ditch. Since the bus was then stuck, driver Mr. Jeff Hebden garnered another bus in order to go pick up the students and get them to their final destination for the evening.
In all this, again, our constant concern is for the safety and wellbeing of ALL our Bellaire Eagles. Thanks go to Mr. Menestrina for his alertness, Mr. Hebden for helping get students to their destination and to athletic director Mr. Brad Fischer and transportation director Mr. Bryan Davies for assisting in the final resolution of the matter.
